He is a Fellow in the American College of Internal Medicine and a Member of the Infectious Disease Society of America.

An expert in virus pathogenesis novel vaccines and therapeutics and microbial co-infection, she is also deputy director, World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza in Animals & Birds.

Dr. Joshua Wolf

Dr. Joshua Wolf, PhD, MBBS, associate faculty member and pediatric infectious diseases physician, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and medical director of antimicrobial stewardship and program lead for hematology and oncology infectious diseases for the organization. He is an expert in infections in immunocompromised children, with a research program dedicated to improving survival in children with cancer by prediction, prevention and amelioration of life-threatening infections

Dr. Julio Frenk
President of University of Miami

 Dr. Julio Frenk became the sixth president of the University of Miami in August of 2015.  He also holds academic appointments as Professor of Public Health Sciences at the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and as Professor of Health Sector Management and Policy at the Business School.  Frenk served as the Minister of Health of Mexico and pursued an ambitious agenda to reform the nation’s health system and introduced a program of comprehensive universal coverage, known as Seguro Popular.

Dr. Jewel Mullen
Associate Dean for Health Equity at the Dell Medical School

Dr. Jewel Mullen, MD, MPH is the associate dean for health equity at the Dell Medical School, as well as an associate professor in the school’s population health and internal medicine departments. She also serves as a senior consultant for Ascension Seton to help meet health equity goals across its system. Mullen is an internist, epidemiologist, public health physician leader and the former principal deputy assistant secretary for health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Dr. Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA, author and former vice admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps who served as the 19th Surgeon General of the United States. In that role he created initiatives to tackle the country’s most urgent public-health issues, including the Ebola and Zika viruses, obesity, mental health, and the opioid crisis. Murthy is the cofounder of several organizations, including TrialNetworks, a software-technology company, and Doctors for America, a group of more 18,000 physicians and medical students supporting high-quality and affordable care for all.

Dr. Adolfo Garcia-Sastre
Co-Director of the Global Health & Emerging Pathogens Institute at The Icahn School of Medicine

Dr. Adolfo Garcia-Sastre, PhD is a Professor of Medicine and Microbiology and co-director of the Global Health & Emerging Pathogens Institute at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His research into the biology of influenza viruses has been at the forefront of medical advances in epidemiology. His landmark contributions include the successful development of reverse genetics techniques allowing the recreation of the extinct pandemic influenza virus of 1918 from recombinant DNA. Research in his lab, the García-Sastre lab, focuses on a wide variety of viral pathogens, as well as host-pathogen interactions, and vaccine and anti-viral drug development.

2017 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine

Dr. Michael Rosbash, Ph.D. is the 2017 Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a Professor of Biology at Brandeis University, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. Rosbash is a pioneer of chronobiology, the study of how living systems sense and respond to time.

Dr. Thomas J. Cahill

Dr. Thomas J. Cahill, M.D., Ph.D. is the Founder and Managing Partner of Newpath Management, L.P. Dr. Cahill received both his M.D. and Ph.D. from Duke University. His Ph.D. work, with Professor Robert Lefkowitz (Nobel Laureate), focused on studying cellular receptors and their signaling to inform novel drug development and discovery.

Dr. Stuart Schreiber, Ph.D. is a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University and co-Founder of the Broad Institute. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, and a founder of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Forma Therapeutics, H3 Biomedicine and Jnana Therapeutics. Schreiber co-pioneered the field of chemical biology.
